Our Story

A Note From Our Founder

“I grew up watching my parents give back to their community, whether it be through PTA, coaching, food kitchens or at church. I followed those footsteps and brought my children into volunteerism at a very young age as well. My family has consistently participated in Toys For Tots, Relay For Life, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, and tons more. One year, we started a Christmas Eve event to serve the homeless and it’s become one of WeR1’s annual events. We became involved with CASA and the foster care system, missionary work (even outside the US), coaching and mentoring the youth, developing fundraisers to assist kids in being able to afford sports and the list goes on. Through all these experiences. it became more and more important to me to start a non-profit of my own but I wasn't sure where to begin.  My amazing children saw my passion and took on the task of helping to form the non-profit. What an incredible surprise and absolutely the greatest gift. They are my inspiration and greatest joy and the fact that we are able to work together in this is a true blessing for us all. The love and support of my family, friends and community definitely encompasses the true meaning of WeR1.”
